1. Commitment
AFMEED is committed to making its website and member space accessible, in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA.
2. Conformance status
The website was designed to meet WCAG 2.2 AA. No independent conformance audit has been published yet: the website is therefore declared partially conformant pending that audit.
3. Measures in place
- Landmark structure (header, navigation, main content, footer) and a skip link to the content;
- full keyboard operation, visible focus, logical tab order;
- compliant contrast (text at least 4.5:1) and a visible focus on every interactive element;
- labelled forms, errors stated in text, linked to the fields and summarised at the top of the form;
- the “reduce motion” setting is respected; no video plays automatically;
- six interface languages, including Arabic with a right-to-left layout;
- page changes are announced to assistive technologies.
4. Known non-accessible content
- AFMEED’s presentation film (an interview) does not yet have captions; a transcript and captions will be added from the console;
- some published PDF documents may not be tagged for accessibility;
- the chapters map is an illustration: the chapter list next to it is its accessible equivalent.
5. Reporting a barrier
If you cannot access some content or a service, write to us from the Contact page, stating the page concerned; an accessible alternative will be offered.
6. Preparation of this statement
Statement prepared on 24 October 2026.
